Music and the Spoken Word

Attend a Live Performance 

Visitors to Salt Lake City may attend a live broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Sunday mornings.

Exception for the 2016 Christmas Season:

  • December 25: There will be no live Music and the Spoken Word on Temple Square but a special Christmas program will be broadcast. Temple Square will have limited visiting hours – open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

No Tickets Required

Admission is free but is limited to those eight years of age and older. Doors open to the public at 8:30 a.m., and guests should be seated by 9:15 a.m., when the doors are closed. The broadcast is 30 minutes in length and ends at 10:00 a.m.

During the 2016 Christmas Season, tickets will not be required for the December 11, 18 or January 1, 2017 special broadcasts.

Broadcast Locations

From January through mid-July and September through November, the broadcasts will be held in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. From mid-July through August, and during the month of December, broadcasts will be held in the Conference Center to accommodate larger audiences.

The 2016 holiday season broadcast locations will be:

  • December 4: Conference Center
  • December 11: Conference Center
  • December 18: Tabernacle
  • December 25: No live broadcast on Temple Square
  • January 1: Tabernacle
