Concert Ticket Distribution Frequently Asked Questions
How will 2016 Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert tickets be distributed?
Tickets to the concerts are required, but free to the public. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are available only online at lds.org/events. No phone or in-person ticket requests will be available.
When will tickets be available?
Tickets will be available beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mountain on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at lds.org/events.
How many tickets can I request?
Each patron can request four tickets for the 2016 Christmas Concert. You may choose for one of three evening performances: December 8, 9, or 10, 2016, as long as tickets remain available for that performance. Admission is open to those who are ages eight and older. Seating will be general admission by section. There will be no exchanges.
Do I need a ticket for the Music and the Spoken Word broadcast on Sunday, December 11?
No tickets are required for this 30-minute broadcast event on December 11. You need to be in your seats by 9:15 a.m. in the Conference Center.
Why did you change from random selection to first-come, first-served?
The “random selection” method resulted in some processing delays, people not being able to select the night for their tickets, and other handling problems at the box office. This year patrons will be able to see which nights are available at the time they make their selection and will know at the end of their request which night they received.
Will the website be able to handle a large volume of ticket requests?
The Ticket Office uses a system that is employed by large-scale sporting events and has a proven record of reliability. There should be sufficient bandwidth to handle a large volume of requests.
What if I can’t get through?
If you don’t get through at first, please keep trying. You should be able to log on shortly.
Are there any other options to get tickets?
Tickets will only be available online. There will be no ticket phone requests or tickets available in person through the Ticket Office.
What if I can’t get tickets to the concerts?
Two options: (1) Patrons can stand by for last-minute seating each evening. The standby line forms at the north gate on Temple Square approximately two hours prior to the concert start time. Ticket holders are required to be in their seats 30 minutes prior to the concert. Seats that are empty 30 minutes prior to the concert will be filled by those in the stand-by line. (2) A limited number of tickets will be given away between now and the December concert dates. What if I don’t have access to the Internet?
We would encourage you to contact friends or family who might want to join you at the concert who have access to the Internet.
How will I receive my tickets to the Concert?
When ordering tickets, you will be able to select either to have them mailed or printed at home using Tickets@Home. If you select Tickets@Home you will be asked to provide an email address where you will be sent a link to print your tickets at home. Each ticket will need to be printed on its own 8 ½” x 11” piece of paper. Printed tickets will indicate the section where your seats are located.
Please note: Tickets not distributed through the Conference Center Ticket Office cannot be guaranteed to be authentic or valid. Buying or selling Christmas concert tickets is not permitted. Tickets obtained via these means can be invalidated.
