Four Ways to Experience the Choir's Easter Concert Performance of Messiah
The demand for tickets to the Easter concert performances of Messiah by the Choir and Orchestra was overwhelming. Tickets were claimed and distributed just seven and a half minutes after they were made available. Many fans of the Choir expressed a desire for additional viewing opportunities. To meet the demand to hear this beloved oratorio, the Choir has added two additional seating opportunities as well as live streaming during the performance and on-demand during the Easter weekend. These options will make it possible for everyone in the world to hear this Easter performance of Messiah by the Choir and Orchestra!
Below is a guide to help you experience the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Easter Concert Performance of Messiah from anywhere around the globe.
The Easter Concert will be broadcast live over the internet as it happens in real time beginning at 7:30 p.m. MDT on Friday, April 18. Visit mormontabernaclechoir.org/messiah at that time to view the performance.
Shortly after the conclusion of the live broadcast on April 18th, a recording of the performance will be available on-demand as a YouTube video. The on-demand video opportunity allows fans of the Choir who were not able to attend in-person or view the live broadcast to watch the concert at their convenience throughout the Easter weekend. The on-demand video will be found at mormontabernaclechoir.org/messiah as well at the Choir's YouTube channel, YouTube.com/MormonTabChoir.
If you live near Temple Square, there are still opportunities for an enhanced Messiah experience. The concert will be simulcast to the Legacy Theater in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. This theater has a large screen with the enhanced acoustics. Tickets for this experience are being distributed by random selection. To submit an entry for tickets, visit mormontabernaclechoir.org/messiah. The random selection process will close Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
The closed-circuit simulcast is an additional viewing opportunity for those who live near Temple Square. Video and hi-fidelity audio of the concert will be shown in the Conference Center Theater on both Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19. Tickets for this additional seating will be available on lds.org/events beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18. Patrons will be limited to two tickets per request.
